Finns take naked run seriously

50 people, naughty bits exposed to the world, ran 10 kilometres in an annual event designed to help Finns lighten up a little. Most were locals from Padasjoki, Finland, a small village north of Helsinki.

"When Finns run they are very serious and concentrated. We wanted to bring some fun to the idea of exercising, so we said why not organize something special and run without any clothes," explained organizer Aarno Heino.

When the run was started back in 2003 only four joggers participated. But "as the years went by, we realized the whole village supported the idea and many more have decided to participate," Heino said.

Complaints? Just one. "A man called the police on us once, but they realized that in the end it was really harmless."

Nothing more innocent than a naked jogger. And puppies.
