Condom past expiry

The oldest condom in the world has gone on display at an Austrian Museum this summer. The reusable condom dates back to 1640 and comes with the original owner's manual, written in Latin.

The manual instructs users to immerse the safe, which is made of pig intestine,  in warm milk prior to using in order to avoid diseases. Back then the consequences of catching an STD were a lot more scary than they are now. Imagine if there were no cure for the clap!

The antique condom, which was discovered in Lund, Sweden, is one of 250 ancient sex-related objects on display at the Tirolean County Museum. Note to self: check best before dates on  condom stash.
