HGTV kicks homophobic brothers to the curb

David and Jason BenhamOn Tuesday, HGTV was called out for adding a new house-flipping show called Flip It Forward to its upcoming fall schedule. The problem: the show's leads, twins David and Jason Benham, don't like the gays.

The boys takes after their father, Flip. In the past, he has condemned a Sandy Hook memorial for being interfaith, he has shouted "Jesus Hates Muslims" in front of mosques, and he claimed that the Democratic Party actively promotes a "culture of death."

Like father, like son. In 2012, David led a prayer rally outside of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. During the event, he said that “homosexuality and its agenda ... is attacking the nation” and that “demonic ideologies [were] tak[ing] our universities and our public school systems.”

He was also active in pushing for North Carolina’s Amendment One, which banned gay marriage and civil unions in the state's constitution.

When word got out, HGTV said it would look into the allegations. Yesterday, it announced that it would "not move forward" with the show.
