Badpuppy changes hands

Badpuppy Enterprises Inc., whose flagship site has been online since 1995,  has been sold to gay affiliate program KJCash

"Badpuppy was the first gay membership website on the net, and long been one of my favorites," Craig Jackson ("CJ"), CEO of KaiJack LLC, parent company of KJCash, told XBIZ. "I am thrilled to welcome the Badpuppy sites into our successful network."

Bill Pinyon, formerly a network specialist at NASA,  founded Badpuppy well before the birth of the World Wide Web. He operated it as an online bulletin board system (BBS) where tech-savvy gays using dial-up modems could download images one at a time.

Badpuppy was converted into the first ever gay adult membership site in May of 1995. It flourished and has withstood an onslaught of competition over almost two decades; it continues to be a widely recognized brand.

"There comes a time when you just know it is the right time to move on and pursue new adventures, and that time is here,”  Pinyon said.

The acquiring company, KJCash, is lesser known. It was launched in October, 2008 and operates a dozen membership sites (and their mobile equivalents) as well as DVD sales, video-on-demand and leased webmaster feeds.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
