The Guinness ad you're not supposed to see

Way back in 1995, Guinness - the world-famous Irish beer company - decided to create a sexy, somewhat steamy gay commercial. But even before it aired, there was enough controversy about the advert that it never saw the light of day.

The video follows a man as he readies himself for work. He's obviously a bit of a hot mess (emphasis on hot and mess), with dirty clothes every where, a dirty kitchen, and a house that would do a hoarder proud. But someone's cleaning up after him. And said someone turns out to be, shocker, a man!

"The UK tabloid press widely reported the planned ad before it aired, to much scandal," explained Ad Report. "Pubs and consumers were shocked that the traditional brand would air a gay ad.

"Fearing greater backlash by straight consumers, the TV spot was ultimately dropped by Guinness. Later, the company tried to deny that this spot even existed."

Well, after all these years it has finally been released over the Internet ...
