Sean Hayes, Megan Mullally go gay

Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally each playing in new gay production.Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally, famous for playing Jack and Karen on the hit show Will and Grace, are both preparing for new roles in gay-focused productions. Hayes is planning a sitcom where he will play a queer dad, and Mullally will be appearing in the film Gay Dude.

NBC programming chairman Robert Greenblatt announced a few weeks ago that Hayes was in talks to appear in a new show, but few details were given. Now, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the series will feature Hayes and his partner trying to raise a young son.

Also in talks to join the show as writer and executive-producer is Peter Tolan. Tolan has been involved in several hit shows, from FX's Rescue Me, to comedies like Murphy Brown and The Larry Sanders Show

Mullally, on the other hand, is headed for the big screen. She will play the mother of high-schooler Matty, while her real-life husband, Nick Offerman, plays the father of Michael. Matty and Michael are best friends who pledge to help each other lose their virginity by graduation. Things get a bit more complicated when Matty finally comes out of the closet,

Gay Dude will hit theaters next year.

And though we'd love to see these two back together as Karen and Jack, we're excited for both their new projects.
