Craig still guilty

Senator Larry Craig denied chance to recant his guilty pleaSenator Larry Craig hit a bit of a bump on the road to clearing his name. Craig was arrested and pled guilty for soliciting sex in an airport restroom, but he later recanted his confession claiming he was innocent of the charges.

After reviewing the case, Hennepin County Judge Charles Porter decided that Craig's initial confession, and conviction, cannot be changed. "Because the defendant's plea was accurate, voluntary and intelligent, and because the conviction is supported by the evidence ... the defendant's motion to withdraw his guilty plea is denied."

The judge's decision can be appealed, though it is not clear whether Craig is up for the fight. He'll need time to sit and think about it... is there a restroom nearby?
