Holding out for a hero

Tom Welling plays the young, and way too hot, Superman on CW's "Smallville." The Man of Steel -- we'd love to see his hard parts -- arrived in our homes 7 seasons ago and still seems to be going strong.

Last year's break out TV hit was NBC's "Heroes." The most prominent character was Peter Petrelli with his ability to copy other people's powers. Played by the always adorable Milo Ventimiglia, Peter helped make Monday nights must-watch TV!

Captain Jack Harkness is a character from "Dr Who" who was spun-off into his own show, "Torchwood." A bisexual time traveler played by openly gay actor John Barrowman, Harkness has the ability to jump through time and maybe, one day, into our beds.
