Pro-family group tired of gays

Dave QuistIt appears that a Canadian lobby group, the Institute of Marriage and Family Canada, is no longer concerned with fighting gay unions. After a recent country-wide census revealed that only 0.1 per cent of the 6.1 million married couples in Canada are same sex, and with the realization that political will to return to a traditional definition of marriage is greatly lacking, the Institute has given up.

“No political party is likely to put that (restoring traditional marriage) as part of their platform, their agenda right now. I’m not even asking for that as an institute,” Dave Quist, executive director for the organization, said. “We have to pick our battles and where we are going to spend our time and energy.”

Their new target: those nasty common law relationships. Because heaven knows there's nothing more pressing in the world than two people shacking up ...
