Republican downplays gay porn past

Matt Sanchez wears many hats: he's a former U.S. marine, an outspoken Republican, a writer, a college student at Columbia University and a partner at a Manhattan marketing firm. But lately it's what he used to be that has been getting the conservative poster-boy the most attention. That's because Sanchez -- formerly known as Rod Majors and Pierre LaBranche -- used to be a gay porn actor and escort.

Gay blogger Joe.My.God. helped break news of Sanchez's past early this month after the 36-year-old student was photographed with conservative pundit Ann Coulter at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., where he was being honored for his pro-military activism and where Coulter was making news for calling Sen. John Edwards a faggot.

"Several bloggers were posting pictures of me and Coulter together and noting, gleefully, that the guy with his arm around the waist of the woman who called Edwards a faggot had, once upon a time, acted in adult films," writes Sanchez in a recent essay at Salon.com.

         

Indeed, he had. According to GAYVN News, Sanchez had appeared in at least 35 gay porn films in the 1990s, including titles such as "Jawbreaker," "Power Trip," and "Tijuana Toilet Tramps." What's more, reports Gay Porn Blog, he had escorted alongside Michael Lucas and had once dated revered gay blogger Andy Towle of Towleroad.

Sounds like Sanchez was pretty gay, right? Not according to the man himself. On a recent radio show, says Gay Porn Blog, Sanchez insists that he isn't gay, that he acted in both gay and straight porn films, and that he served both male and female clients when he was an escort.

"By the time I finished my brief tour of the major studios, I was pretty disgusted with myself," Sanchez writes at Salon.com.

Not disgusted enough, though, to refrain from bragging about his purported 11-inch cock:

"However many pictures there may be in video stores or warehouses or online, they still don't have anything interesting to say," he writes in the same article. "I am concerned, though, that they may make some people feel inadequate. As a conservative, I like to insist on equal opportunity, even if some do start off with more than others."

It's not surprising when a conservative is a dick. It does seem unfair, though, when the actual dick is as large as the figurative one!
