Cellco pulls porn

Bowing to pressure from hundreds of irate subscribers, Canadian cell phone company Telus has discontinued its recently introduced pay-per-view porn service.

While European cell companies have offered pay-per-view downloads for years, federal regulations have made it difficult for North American companies to follow suit. Even though the Canadian service passed regulatory muster, enough customers were upset (and vocal) to make Telus reverse its potentially lucrative decision.

It seems Canadians are not quite as liberal as Europeans when it comes to expanding access to porn. Oh well, there will always be plenty of it on the Net!
