"Gay bachelor" Robert Sepulveda Jr. talks about his rentboy past

Sepulveda male escortLogo’s "gay Bachelor," Robert Sepulveda Jr., was once an escort. Shock and gasp!

Yes, Sepulveda -- who will be playing the "bachelor" on the new TV series Finding Prince Charming -- admitted that he used to have sex for money in a former life.

“The past was the past,” Sepulveda said. “I was young and it helped through college. But what I want people to focus on is who I am today as an entrepreneur, as an activist. I started a non-profit and, you know, focusing on the show. That’s really what I want people to focus on.”

In fact, he added that the show was a great opportunity for him and some of his on-air suitors to deal with any shame they may have been carrying from their past. “The show allowed me as well to close a lot of chapters in my life that I felt a lot of guilt around, a lot of shame and a lot of things I thought I couldn’t share and express,” he said.

Various gay sites started reporting last week that Sepulveda advertised on the now shuttered RentBoy.com as Vincent Roman. He also had another profile as JordanAthleteTen.

On the site Towleroad, a commenter accused the former escort of being  racist in his escort life.

“Stno” wrote: “Robert Sepulveda also known as rentboy Vincent Romen (2006-2012). Was according to several (very trusted) clients on daddyreviews.com and rentboy.com known for having racist (no melanin) preferences. The non-white contestants in this gay Bachelor edition are only PR added to make him seem not racist."

Sepulveda, who now works as a designer, seems to be taking it all in stride. “Well, everyone is worthy of love. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in your past, escorting or anything else.”

Really? What about MURDER?
