Crowdfunding for porn

Crowdfunding seems to be all the rage these days. Websites like Kickstarter let average Joes and professional types who have an idea post online for help from the general public. Said public offers money to fund the idea and if 100 percent of the funding goal is reached, the money is released to make the project happen.

A new site has now been created for more adult endeavors. Called Offbeatr, it was designed to help amateur porn stars and producers create, well, porn. It's Kickstarter for XXX content.

The process will begin by pitching your idea to Offbeatr for approval. If accepted, the team behind the project will create an Offbeatr page to list what the project is, how much is needed and what people get in return for helping out (such as a signed copy of the DVD). If enough money comes in to meet the funding goal, it is released to the team and the project can be completed.

There is a listing fee deposit, however; if a project is looking to raise $300, a deposit of $10 is required, but a $30,000 project will require a deposit of $600. Offbeatr also takes a percentage of the money raised.

Any 'adult' ideas are welcome, from a specific event, a comic book, a video or even the creation of a sex toy prototype.
