Singer and actor and big time Christian fundamentalist Pat Boone -- who had several hit singles in the 1950s -- is spitting mad at Saturday Night Live for a skit it put on during last Saturday's show. "God is a Boob Man" is a parody of Boone's recent pro-Christian movie God's Not Dead 2.
"Something can be devilishly funny, but this skit is diabolical," Boone told The Hollywood Reporter. "God has only one real enemy — Satan. Satan ridicules faith, and they’re taking Satan’s side. They’re also ridiculing me and the film, telling impressionable young people not to see it because it’s ridiculous. Then they throw in that the lawyer is Jewish to make the Christian look even worse, but it’s just anti-Semitic."
In God's Not Dead 2, a high school teacher (the openly pro-gay Melissa Joan Hart) must defend herself in court after she accidentally quotes scripture while answering a student's question.
"God is a Boob Man" follows a Christian baker who won't bake a gay wedding cake; she goes to court, arguing her religious freedom has been trampled on because, well, God is a totally hetero breast man.
"This skit was outright sacrilege," continued Boone. "They know if they did this to Muslims they’d have to be put into the witness protection program. There’s nothing sacred at SNL — except maybe the words ‘Mohammad’ or ‘Allah.’ They’d never take those names in vain, but when they called God a ‘boob man,’ they took his name in vain."
Well, Jesus came to us in a dream and said he LOVED the skit.
Check it out for yourself (starting at the 00:16 mark).
