Hardware company confuses everyone with "gay, straight" ad

This online ad, created by UK-based hardware store Robert Dyas, is very odd.

Not only does the ad share all the wonderful things both gay and straight people can purchase, but it also outs both employees and customers.

It's wonderfully awkward and bizarre and everything the Internet should be about.

Now, the ad is causing a lot of people to wonder what is really going on. Is it a spoof? Is it real? Is it pro-gay or somewhat homophobic? We think it's a subtle nod to a video created by comedy duo Rhett & Link.
