In just three weeks, the trial against Jarec Wentworth is set to begin.

 

The porn star has been accused of extorting $500,000 and an Audi R8 from the alleged victim known as DB. Wentworth allegedly added to his list of demands, including $1 million in cash, a motorcycle and a condo in Los Angeles.  According to the charges, Wentworth threatened to expose details of his sexual relationship with DB.

 

In an interesting - and somewhat confusing - twist, the porn star's attorneys are asking that DB's lawyer be compelled to take the witness stand. They claim that Douglas Axel met with the FBI without his client, and therefore is a witness to the case.

 

Axel has asked the request be dismissed, but Wentworth's lawyers are pushing back.

 

“Each of the arguments raised by DB's counsel is either factually unsound, irrelevant to the issuance of the subpoena, or does not support the argument that the subpoena should be quashed,” they argued. “[T]he subpoena should stand and Mr. Axel should be required to testify at trial, if called by the defense as a witness.”

 

The judge has yet to rule on the request.

 

As for Wentworth (aka Teofil Brank), he has been in jail since March and was denied bail.

 

Over 3,000 pages of records, five audio recordings, three video recordings and several cellphone recordings and texts have already been disclosed as possible evidence in the case.
