'Girls Gone Wild' creator convicted for assault

Joe Francis found guilty of assaultJoe Francis, the creator of the super-successful Spring Break video series Girls Gone Wild (and the not as successful spin-off Guys Gone Wild), was found guilty on Monday of misdemeanor counts of assault and false imprisonment stemming from a 2011 incident.

According to reports, Francis met three women who were celebrating their college graduation. He took them home to his gated community, where he tried to separate one of the women from the other two. A fight ensued, and he pulled one of the women's hair before slamming her head into the floor.

He could receive up to five years in prison.

The silver line for Francis: five years sounds like a good break from the shrill sound of his on-again off-again girlfriend Melissa Rivers.
