It's Bel Ami versus Bel Ami

Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson is starring in a new movie called Bel Ami. It's based on the 19th Century Guy de Maupassant novel about Paris society at the height of the Belle Epoque.

It is not the story of a gay porn studio that uses sexy east European studs working up a sweat and drowning in a sea of jizz. (Though that would sound a lot more interesting!)

However, hollywood.com recenty found that Bel Ami, the movie, and Bel Ami, the studio, have a bit more in common than one would expect.

For example, both take their name from Maupassant's novel.

There's more. In the book, the lead character, Georges Duroy, rises from a poor journalist to become one of the most poweful men in Paris, relying on the influence of several female mistresses; whereas the head of Bel Ami, also named Georges Duroy, rose from a poor background as a filmmaker to become one of the most powerful forces in gay porn, courtesy of several (hundred) male hotties.

Both the mainstream film (a tear jerker), and the studio's work (another kind of jerker), require lots of Kleenex. And both focus on the exploits of handsome foreigners.

You can check out a few more of the similarities here (though most are quite lame), or you can just check out a list of recent Bel Ami studs fucking up a storm here!

Bel Ami cocks

Two reasons why Bel Ami (the studio) might be better than Bel Ami (the movie).
