UK Naked Men: catering to lovers of British cock

UK Naked Men has been pretty successful at keeping its promise to bring fans "the very best of British gay porn, featuring hung, uncut and horny naked men having great sex." The site is filled with the kind of men that make you weak in the knees when they stand next to you at the urinal.

And truth be told, we all have Aiden Shaw to thank for the hot British porn UKNM produces. If it wasn't for him, the guys behind the site might still be taking pretty pictures of very normal, non-naked people.

"My partner and I worked together shooting 'straight' photography for several years (the kind where people keep their clothes on)," explained UKNM's Jonno. "We did some portrait pictures for Aiden Shaw and he asked if we'd shoot a porn set of him. We had fun doing it and sold the set to an American magazine, so we thought we'd do some more."

This led to shoots for magazines like Playgirl, Mandate, and Advocate, allowing the duo to build up an impressive library of stills. And when Internet porn took off, they had plenty of product that was ready to be uploaded for the cock hungry online crowd.

"I was used to creating dramatic effects," said Jonno. "I knew how good lighting and post-production can create something special. We didn't want to create another reality site, there were already plenty of them around, and without wanting to sound all arty, we knew we'd soon become bored if we were just throwing guys on a bed week after week, so with the idea of creating something different, making great guys look even better, and keeping ourselves amused, we launched UKNM."

BananaGuide caught up with Jonno to find out a bit more about what he thinks makes UKNM so special for fans, how making porn in Britain is different than in the US, and who he'd like to see fucking Daniel Craig.

BananaGuide: What was the first video you shot for the site?

Jonno: The first video we ever shot was To the Manor Porn. We didn't have a clue what we were doing. Thankfully the hours of footage we shot were saved and trimmed into twenty minutes of watchable scene. The camera was second-rate, the sound awful and there were wires trailing in almost every shot, but we loved doing it, had bags of ideas and soon got better at it.

What else do you think helps UKNM stand out from all the other sites out there?

All our models say we're very relaxed and easy to work for, I hope that's true ... we don't know how anyone else works. We have fun on shoots and don't get bogged down doing take after take. With limited time and budgets we do our best to produce something out of the ordinary, but we don't take ourselves too seriously, so our videos keep some of their raw sexuality. They're not polished to death.

We're a team, and that includes our performers. We quite often have someone saying what they'd like to do in a scene which we might (if it's legal) include and won't force guys to do something they're obviously not enjoying. 

Has anything happened on set that shocked you?

The first time we shot in Paris, some of the guys were very extreme. They looked very sweet and then suddenly there's more fingers in an arse than there should be and whoops there goes the hand.

The funniest thing was the publicity we had from shooting on the the King's Speech set. That went bananas! We were laughing for weeks.

Is there a celebrity you'd love to see strip down and shoot a porn for you?

Daniel Craig topping with Gael Garcia Bernal (maybe a flip flop scene). A hot dirty British top, getting fucked by a hot, Hispanic versatile guy -- Ay Caramba! And maybe Colin Farrel would be standing in the doorway wanking and talking filth with his cute Irish accent.

As a porn company based in the UK, are there any benefits to shooting there? Is there a downside?

We LOVE our uncut guys and the UK is full of them. It's also a good stop off for everyone who's visiting Europe. We have one or two American guys a month stopping by, and there are more and more French guys who are just a Eurostar ride away. We also drove to Barcelona this year and shot for a week there. It's perfect, I can't think of any down side ... maybe the weather.

Piracy is a big deal, and several American companies are fighting hard to protect their content. How has Britain handled porn piracy?

It's a problem for everyone, our government was making big noises a while back, but we now have a new party in power and it's all gone rather quiet. The US is ahead of us in tackling this, with companies like Porn Guardian, who manage to keep a lid on it for us. It's a funny old industry, we have to look out for each other. We do share information with other British studios on an informal basis, but there's no official group.

Another hot topic: barebacking. Where do you guys stand on the issue.

You're either a bareback site or you're not. Bareback sex can't be shot with 100% safety for the performers and it doesn't send out a good message, so we'll stick with what we know, safe sex. It's just better for our conscience. 

Anything fans should be expecting in the months to come? Any big scenes or surprises?

We have a couple of big American names coming over, some amazing new British and French guys. There's a particularly hot American bloke coming over next week, we've been wanting to shoot him for ages, so hopefully that won't be jinxed by my mentioning it!
