A California appeals court ruled on Monday that the firing of a San Diego teacher was acceptable after he posted an explicit pic of himself in the m4m section of Craigslist.
The court overturned the decision of the Commission on Professional Competence that had declared that San Diego Unified School District did not have sufficient grounds to fire Frank Lampedusa. The appellate court found that Lampedusa, however, was in violation of the 'immoral conduct' clause of the Education Code.
The ad included supposedly graphic explanations of the kinds of sexual activities that Lampedusa preferred. There was no mention of the school, nor was he looking for anyone underage.
He worked for the school for 10 years before being fired.
How the ad was discovered, and by whom, would be interesting to find out. Spurned lover? Teaching rival? Angry student? This could be a Miss Marple mystery ... minus a murder, of course.
