Dominic Ford looking for content thieves

Porn GuardianDominic Ford has launched a new company dedicated to removing all pirated content from the web. The company is called Porn Guardian and is already being used by several companies.

Porn Guardian currently has a dedicated staff in both New York and Los Angeles. Their responsibility is to patrol blogs, file sharing sites, and newsgroups, and then report to clients about what they find. They also contact the offending site and claim to have a 98 percent take-down rate on all files discovered. Any site that refuses to remove stolen files will then face potential legal action.

Dominic Ford, the man, said he started developing the new company two years ago with Peter Phinney, as a way to protect his own content. He quickly realized other companies would be interested.

“As we became more and more well known, I noticed our content popping up in alarming numbers all over the Internet," DominicFord said. "While our membership base has been growing for the last two years, piracy is a problem that is plaguing us as much as it is plaguing the rest of the industry.

"We couldn't find a solution we thought worked well, nor could we find a company whose staff was attuned specifically to the adult space. And like that, Porn Guardian was born. While we had developed a quite robust set of tools for our in-house use, we evolved it to become even better, bigger and developed unique features that would help not only us, but the industry at large."

There certainly won't be any shortage of work for the next little while ...
