Flava Works wins pirating cases

Earlier this year, Flava Works took on some Internet pirates, filing suit against DGSource.com/Gairoo.com (a forum) and IStackPorn.net (a blog). Yesterday, Flava Works announced they had been awarded a $301,320.00 default judgment against Taron Wyche and DGSource.com, and in a second case they won a default judgment in the amount of $52,451.75 against Rod Hughes, Honey Wood and Istackporn.net.

In the Istackporn.net case, Honey Woods was targeted simply for funding Rod Hughes' site by using her credit card to purchase website hosting and the domain name.

And this is just the beginning; other lawsuits are planned against copyright and trademark infringers to put the brakes on internet piracy.

“For too long, torrent and tube sites have been pilfering the sites of hard working adult entertainment companies and the time has come to shut them down. Until recently, only a handful of adult content producers have bothered to take serious legal action against these blatant infringers” says Phillip Bleicher, Chief Executive Officer of Flava Works. “Today, Flava Works has declared that it will be joining the ranks of these brave and committed few, while encouraging others to follow suit, so that we may hopefully all join forces soon to shut these pirates down for good.”

Will it be enough?
