AIDS Healthcare pickets Larry Flynt

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) sent about two dozen protesters to Larry Flynt Publications headquarters yesterday. Their beef with the old man of porn? Hustler Video, like virtually all straight porn companies, does not use condoms in its productions.

Protesters carried signs that read, “Condoms in Porn Now” and “Condoms Save Lives.”

The group also delivered a hundred DVDs of hardcore Hustler films to the state Division of Occupational Safety and Health's Los Angeles office.

The AHF is pushing for stronger regulations for adult productions, including the mandatory use of condoms to protect actors from STIs. Most straight porn studios, including Hustler, test their models for STIs and ban those with HIV from performing.

Larry Flynt Productions President Michael Klein said the demands were unrealistic. "We won't budge when it comes to condomless productions," he said in a statement. "That's what the consumer wants, and we deliver it."
