Adam Lambert to announce the obvious

According to the New York Post, "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert will announce TV land's worst kept secret in next month's Rolling Stone magazine: he's gay. Gasp! Shock! Horror!

We doubt he was ever really in the closet, likely refusing comment on his sexuality at the request of American Idol producers. The show is a Fox sensation and considered very family-oriented, after all.

"He didn't want (his homosexuality) to be an issue during the contest, but he's fine with his sexuality," a source told the New York Post.

"American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi already outted the young singer during an interview on TV's "The View."

"I don't think that Adam was ever in (the closet)," she said on Friday's show. "I think he was always openly out. ... I mean, from what I've seen ... I do. I never thought he wasn't."

And we didn't see it coming ...
