GayVN nominees include bareback

For the first time in their illustrious history, the GayVN Awards -- previously limited to DVD releases -- include several Web categories. And while it's a gallant effort, there are a couple odd ommissions and inclusions.

Shortly after the nominees were announced bloggers were quick to point out the incredible oversight of not including Randy Blue or Sean Cody on the Best Site of the Year list. Then we looked at the nominee list and saw that they had been added -- and now they are gone again?!?

Some sites that simply don't belong on any Best of nominee list: Hot Older Male, which is average at best; Boys on the Web, which is a Badpuppy feeder site, and BaitBus, which hasn't been updated in years.

Aside from that, the Twink Category has a very strange inclusion. GayVN has always excluded bareback studios from qualifying for the awards. Why then do they nominate Pop Boys in the category of Best Twink Site? Pop Boys is all bareback, and furthermore it's all young, Eastern European boys. It's doubtful weather there's any counseling or screening done for these kids before they have unprotected sex on camera.
