Schwarzenegger supports gay rights fight

Arnold Schwarzenegger against hateOn Sunday, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said he thinks it is only a matter of time before Proposition 8 -- the ban on gay marriage that passed during the recent election -- is overturned by the California Supreme Court. He also believes that the 18,000 gay and lesbian couples who are already married will not have their marriages invalidated.

"It's unfortunate, obviously, but it's not the end," Schwarzenegger said. "I think that we will again maybe undo that, if the court is willing to do that, and then move forward from there and again lead in that area."

He also added a voice in support of the fight for gay rights. "I learned that you should never ever give up. . . . They should never give up. They should be on it and on it until they get it done."

California Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown has gone on record saying he thinks the state Supreme Court will uphold existing same-sex marriages as valid.

Fingers crossed they're both right. And if not, maybe Conan can kick some homophobic butt!
