The rising cost of ass

If you want to be a porn star, don't accept less than $1,000 a day. And fistees -- the models taking another man's hand up the rump -- deserve a helluva lot more than that!

Chris Ward of Raging Stallion Studios should know. He has directed over 100 videos including "Raiders of the Lost Arse," "The Shaft," and "AssQuest."

"Here at Raging Stallion we take a model-positive approach. All three founders of the studio -- JD Slater, myself, and Michael Brandon -- were models before we were producers / directors, so we have a special relationship with our actors."

A relationship which is necessary for ensuring models are paid fairly. Porn stars do not make any residuals for their work, meaning they don't see a paycheck based upon every porn video sold to the public. What they make for a day or two of shooting is all they'll make on a film.

"I think their fees should be as high as possible within the economic realities of the industry," Ward argues in his blog.

So how do you determine what an actor should get paid? Star power is big. Known actors, with a history of bringing in an audience, will get paid better than actors with no name recognition. If you are new but can provide some buzz -- say, getting fired from your consulate job for doing porn -- you may be able to negotiate more money for the additional publicity you'll be creating.

What you do on camera can also make a difference. "Any fisting model who is offered less than top dollar is being insulted by devious producers who seek only to exploit their talent for personal gain," says Ward.

Of course, the really big bucks are being saved for the porn premier of any A-list star who wants to "come out" in style. Jake? Ricky?
