Spending time with the FBI

If you're thinking of starting your own part-time porn business, be prepared: the FBI may drop by for a little visit.

JT Video, a small production company in California, found this out the hard way. "They were outside my apartment when I got home from work," JT said. They were interested in two titles, "Employee of the Month" and "Four Rooms", and spent about an hour looking into them.

When they finally left, the FBI advised JT he had violated two minor sections of the 2257 law governing the porn industry. What evil could he possibly have perpetrated?

First, he provided a post-office address for all his mail. "I knew I was in violation of this, but I just never felt comfortable having my home address published and don't have an office to use," JT said.

Second, he failed to work a minimum of 20 hours. With a full time job as a video editor elsewhere, working the additional 20 hours for his own company just wasn't feasible.

It is now up the the Department of Justice to determine whether or not to prosecute JT for these violations. He will most likely be fined.

Advice for anyone else? "I would just like to say to all small companies to be prepared, and don't think that you won't be inspected because I thought that, too."

Oh, and we hear FBI agents prefer cream in their coffee.
