Falcon President dies

Terry Mahaffey, president of Falcon Studios, died on Sunday after a battle with cancer. He was 51.

Mahaffey joined the gay adult entertainment industry as a movie distribution rep for LeSalon in 1980.  In 1996 he was recruited by Falcon Studios' founder  Charles Holmes, who remained a mentor until Holmes died in 2000.

In 2004, Mahaffey formed a partnership with Steve Johnson and Todd Montgomery, to create 3 Media Corporation, which bought Falcon Studios from the Charles M. Holmes Foundation.

“Terry was passionate about Falcon Studios and the industry,” business partner Todd Montgomery told AVN, “He has been the heart and soul of the company – we were all inspired by his incessant energy and flair for making the ordinary extraordinary.  The entire staff of Falcon Studios mourns his loss.”

Mahaffey died peacefully at home, comforted by his partner, Michael Scott. Memorial services will be held in San Francisco on Saturday, November 12.
