Rocco Reed found religion, married a woman

He was once a very popular porn star, but almost a decade ago Rocco Reed decided to leave behind the world of adult videos.

Reed, who now goes by the name Joshua Broome, said he original moved to Hollywood for a mainstream acting career. While working as a waiter, he met a group of women who suggested he consider porn and a few days later he was booked for his first scene.

He would go on to make over 1,000 films.

“I believed the lie that if I made money I would be happy,” Reed recently said. “I made well over a million dollars. I travelled everywhere I wanted to go. I had all the sex I could have ever imagined. But once I had it all, my life fell apart, because it amplified the sorrow and emptiness I always felt inside.”

When he left the industry, he said it was for good. He also emphasized at the time he was never gay.

At the time, he released the following statement: "I would like to state that my time in the adult industry in every aspect has now come to an end … I would also like to state that I am not or never have been gay, just an adult performer. I am retiring not because of any other reason than its time to move on.”

He eventually married and became a pastor at the Good News Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. And, of course, he is now an anti-porn campaigner. We're sure that more than a few people in his flock just can't keep their sinful thoughts at bay!
