OKCupid wants you to know it is the dating app for all kinds of users, "from feminists to introverts to non-binary to pansexuals to vaxxers."
To promote this, the company released a new ad campaign, filled with colorful and silly images. This includes a "tree hugger" with a massive tree for a cock and a vax-friendly couple with intertwined tongues.
“As people return to dating, however they feel most comfortable doing so, we want this campaign to show everyone – from feminists to introverts to non-binary to pansexuals to vaxxers – that OkCupid is a place where they can feel welcomed," explained OKCupid global chief marketing officer Melissa Hobley. "We have always been an exclusively inclusive dating app, and that will never change.”
However, some of the images created for the ads were too controversial to be accepted in public ad spaces in cities like New York and LA.
"We had to scramble to replace them in the ninth hour, but that won’t stop us from welcoming 'Every Single Person’ to OkCupid," said a rep from the advertising company.
Currently, there are almost 60 identity tags on the site, with an increase in non-binary users. In the past year, the app also saw an increase in users who identified as bi and as non-monogamous.
