Independent film examines gay porn in the 70s

Goodbye Seventies

Goodbye Seventies, a drama written and directed by Todd Verow, transports us back over 40 years to follow the life of a struggling dancer whose life veers suddenly into the world of porn.

A chorus boy's dreams are coming true in New York City when an injury ends his career as a dancer. Seeking some distraction by watching "art" films in seedy Times Square theaters, he leaves unimpressed and decides he can do better; he calls on some friends and lovers to create quality hardcore films.

Once again, he's on top of the world until drugs, AIDS and cheap video technology prove too much of a challenge.
