Musician Gregory Dillon has released a new EP during lockdown called Sad Magic, which offers an interesting nod to 80s synth-pop. His new video, a single of the same name, is the perfect example.
“When approaching this video, I wanted to hold a mirror up to my past,” Dillon explained about the video. “I grew up near this small amusement park in the suburbs and remember one night going through the house of mirrors with my friends; as we each took turns going through alone, I stepped inside the glass maze and was completely transported.”
He also dedicated the song to "all the LGBT kids listening to synthpop alone on their rooftop. Though this aesthetic edit explores my lonely teenage past, I hope it reminds you that you're always surrounded by angels."
