Taken at face value, Netflix series No Good Nick appears to be nothing more than a silly family sitcom.
However, it's not your typical comedic fare. The show follows a young con artist who infiltrates an average suburban family at the behest of her incarcerated father, pretending to be a long lost relative.
The second season was just released on Netflix and one of the main characters has come out. In the emotional scene, Jeremy Thompson (Kalama Epstein) plans an elaborate dinner and slideshow presentation in order to come out to has family. Nothing goes quite as planned, but in the end it all seems to work out.
"We love you, and we are so proud of you," Liz, the mother, tells Jeremy after he opens up. "I'm so glad you told us."
Tissues, please!
Coming out to your family can be incredibly tough and scary, which is why it’s so powerful when a family sitcom like No Good Nick includes a scene like this. pic.twitter.com/ofyiqnnFnq
