Boston may be getting a "Straight Pride" day

The oppressed hetero majority is finally getting a Straight Pride Parade! Um, hooray?

Three not-at-all-filled-with-hate fellas have demanded a parade permit in Boston. They promised to take the city to court for discrimination if they were denied.

The plan is being pushed by John Hugo, a Republican, and Mark Sahady, an organizer of the right-wing group Resist Marxism. Openly gay Trump supporter Chris Bartley acts as the group's homosexual "ambassador."

The city's mayor Marty Walsh admitted he was obligated to approve any legitimate permit request, even if he wasn't a fan of the group submitting it.

"The City of Boston cannot deny a permit based on an organization's values," he tweeted. He called on the city to choose love over hate and come out for the actual gay pride events in June.

The online world had something to say about "Straight Pride".

"Wow! Cool initiative, fellas!!" tweeted actor Chris Evans. "Just a thought, instead of 'Straight Pride' parade, how about this: The 'desperately trying to bury our own gay thoughts by being homophobic because no one taught us how to access our emotions as children' parade? Whatta ya think? Too on the nose??"

Rock band Smash Mouth was a little more succinct in its response. "Straight Pride Parade????? FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!"

And according to TMZ, Brad Pitt -- who was named as the parade's mascot -- has warned that if they continued to use his name and likeness to promote their “event” legal action might be taken.

The best response, however, came from comedian Dylan Marron. It's actually a video Marron posted two years ago, but it seems especially fitting now.
