Shane Cook, a popular performer at Helix Studios, revealed on Twitter that he is fighting Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“Hello, everyone, I’m posting this picture because I’m tired of being embarrassed about something I have no control over,"
he wrote last week. “So about three or four months ago I was diagnosed with Stage 2 of Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer and, in short, am handling it very well."
“I’ve had some hair loss, and I’ve lost muscle,” he added. “I’m going to keep doing what I need to do for myself and look forward to filming later on.”
Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a form of cancer that occurs in the lymph nodes (located in the neck, armpits, or groin). Swelling is common, and can lead to tiredness and fever. Chemotherapy and radiation are the most common treatments.
According the
Mayo Clinic: "Advances in diagnosis and treatment of Hodgkin's lymphoma have helped give people with this disease the chance for a full recovery. The prognosis continues to improve for people with Hodgkin's lymphoma."
We wish Shane a quick recovery!
