Things are heating up for comic book's Iceman

Tomorrow, all you gay geeks might want to head to your local comic book shop to get the latest issue of X-Men: Gold.

Why? Well it features sexy gay mutant Iceman and his latest hook-up, Pyro.

Yes, Bobby Drake (Iceman) and Simon Lasker (Pyro) hook up following a wedding, and the next morning Pyro is hoping for a round two. Sadly, a loud noise interrupts the almost magical moment.

Of course, this whole scene is huge. First, it makes a second popular character gay (or, at least, bisexual). And it shows two men, half naked, who have obviously had sex. It isn't neutering the characters.

This also sets the stage for a new Iceman series, with openly gay writer Sina Grace prepping the first issue for a September release.

Will Iceman and Pyro be more than a quick fling? Will they prove, once and for all, that fire and ice do mix? Or will it all end in a puddle (of tears). Only time will tell.
