Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, better known as pop duo Sofi Tukker, have a new tune out. It was co-written with Scissor Sisters' front man Jake Shears -- you can definitely hear his influence -- and it's all kinds of catchy.
“It’s different than anything else we have written before because of Jake’s influence," the duo admitted. "It was tongue-in-cheek and kind of goofy in a way that was new to us. The whole premise is ‘fuck they’ -- the people that are trying to hold us back from being who we are, being ourselves really loudly. The profanity’s even part of it. It’s a thesis statement for the next group of songs we’ve been working on; they definitely have a cheekier edge. They’re sassier.”
These two are probably best known for "Awoo," a song that was picked up by Old Navy for one of its campaigns.
