Britain's BBC Four is planning a short series called Queers, which will look back at the last 100 years of LGBT history in the UK.
Russell Tovey, Ben Whishaw, Alan Cumming, Gemma Whelan and Ian Gelder have all signed on to take part in the short 15-minute pieces which help make up the show.
Whishaw, for example, plays a soldier returning from the trenches in 1917 in "The Man on the Platform;" Tovey portrays a gay actor in 1987 in "More Anger;" and Cumming will explore same-sex marriage in modern Britain in "Something Borrowed."
Each 15-minute piece will be a monologue expressing the point of view of a queer person at a specific time in history.
Queers is part of the BBC’s Gay Britannia season, marking the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in England and Wales.
