Things got hot in Chicago this past weekend, as leather aficionados gathered to celebrate kink and comradery at the International Mister Leather competition.
Ralph Bruneau, Mr. GNI (Gay Naturists International) Leather 2016, was given top honors on Sunday, May 28, beating out 62 competitors. The men were judged on stage presence and personality, leather image, presentation skills, and physical appearance. It's like Miss America, but with hairier chests and sweatier sacs.
Geoff Millard, Mr. San Francisco Leather 2017, was 1st runner-up, and Joe King, Mr. Leather Europe, came in third.
Ryan Carpenter Garner won International Mr. Bootblack 2017. (For those of you not in the leather community, traditionally a bootblack was a person employed to polish boots and shoes.)
There's one more major party tonight before the scent of leather and ripe baskets fades for another year.
