Matteo Lane tickles the funny bone

Matteo Lane decided he just might have what it takes to make it as a comedian.

"I'm a New York-based comic who grew up Italian-American (with a little bit of Mexican) in Chicago," he wrote on his website. "I learned 5 languages but still don't read books. After spending most of my life as an oil painter and opera singer, trying my best to be Maria Callas, I decided to throw it all away and tell dick jokes to strangers."

He's been making the rounds, performing everywhere from the New York Comedy Festival to Comedy Central's The Nightly Show. And last week he talked about his favorite subject, himself, on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
