Malaysia says international sex robot symposium is illegal

Robot sexPolice in Malaysia have declared that the planned "Love and Sex with Robots" conference cannot take place in the country.

The event was planned for November 16th to 19th just outside of Kuala Lampur. However, the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the organizer had been told that the conference did not have the needed governmental approval to take place.

"It's already an offence in Malaysia to have anal sex, what more intercourse with robots," Bakar explained. "Don't try to be ridiculous."

He added that there is "nothing scientific about having sex with machines," and that "it's not our culture. We can take action against the organiser if they choose to hold the event."

(Sounds like someone had a bad experience with a toaster!)

The official website for the conference included the Tourism Ministry logo. However, the ministry claimed that it does not support the event.

Professor Adrian David, a co-chair for the event, challenged the Inspector-General's assertion that the conference promoted sex between humans and robots. He said this event was nothing more than a discussion among members of the academia. He said the focus of the gathering was to explore topics such as robot emotions, humanoid robots, clone robots, entertainment robots, robot personalities, teledildonics and intelligent electronic sex hardware.

A human-like robotic sex partner might be kind of hot, but we'd settle for a vibrator that can also make breakfast in the morning!
