Condom undies? The "Scroguard" promises complete protection

Scroguard

A couple of entrepreneurs think they have invented a better condom. It's called the Scroguard, and it is designed to protect men against all forms of STIs.

The Scroguard is like a pair of underwear, with an opening for a condom. It is supposed to reduce skin on skin contact, theoretically lowering the risk of catching infections like herpes or genital warts.

"Both genital herpes and HPV can spread to your scrotum and pubic region through direct skin-to-skin contact and genital secretions during sex, even from someone who has completely normal looking skin with no visible warts or sores," explained Scroguard's developers. "And, in the US, more than 50 per cent of sexually active men and women will get at least one of these STDs at some point in their lives."

Aside from the obvious downside that the Scroguard looks like an adult diaper, there's the possibility of a farting noise occurring during sex if air gets inside the pants. Wow, such a turn on!

The US Food and Drug administration has not approved the device and there is no proof it will protect against STIs.

Still interested? The Scroguard will cost you $19.99 with a $5.80 handling fee. However, the makers warn the device may arrive a little sticky because of the latex, but it's still "perfectly normal and still OK to use."

Looks like an adult diaper. Risk of fart sounds. May arrive sticky. Not proven to actually work. We'll take our chances with just a condom, thank you very much.

Of course, we're probably being punked (at least we hope we are!).
