Singer Sam Smith, who recently came out as a gay man, would like you to stop using hook-up apps like Grindr.
The 22-year-old says that apps like Grindr - and straight apps like Tinder - are destroying romance.
"No offence to people who go on Tinder but I just feel like it’s ruining romance, I really do," he said. "We’re losing the art of conversation and being able to go and speak to people and you’re swiping people."
He said the apps redirect our focus towards superficial things like hair and body type, and that things that really matter, like personality, aren't being considered.
"From my experience the most beautiful people I’ve been on dates with are the dumbest, so why would I swipe people who are 'unattractive' when I could potentially fall in love with them?" he added.
He said he's currently dating a guy he found without using an app, though he doesn't say who or how they met. Of course, being a bestselling artist probably doesn't hurt when looking for potential suitors.
