Older actor finds love with much younger jock

Gerald McCullouch and Derrick Gordon

Move over Dustin Lance Black and Tom Daley, there's a new May - December romance in the news. Derrick Gordon, who came out last month as the first openly gay NCAA Division I athlete, is dating the much older Gerald McCullouch, who played Bobby Dawson on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

The couple made their first public appearance together at the 2014 GLAAD Awards over the weekend.

McCullouch, 47, said they first connected via Twitter a few years ago after Gordon, 22, saw McCullouch in the indie film BearCity, about gay friends navigating life and love in New York.

"Through the years I've encouraged him to lead an authentic life and tried my best to offer as much objective support as possible," McCullouch explained. "It was a scary time for him, and I tried my best to assure him that self-acceptance wasn't anything to be ashamed of and I strongly suggested he find a support team at UMass.

"There is certainly a spark between Derrick and me. I'm very proud of him and think he's an engaging, courageous, and handsome young man."

McCullouch is currently finishing work on Daddy, a film about a forty-something man who falls for a much younger guy.

We're sure this relationship will last forever.
