Meet Eric Ducharme — one of the subjects of TLC's My Crazy Obsession. He is obsessed with becoming a mermaid ... or merman ... or merperson.

"It's my lifestyle," he explained. "It's the path in life the I have chosen."

And though a man who lives part of his life in fake fins would send many potential suitors running, he does have a partner.

"I was introduced to the subject of mermaids on our first date," his boyfriend said. "You're jaw just kind of drops and you're like ... wow."
