The Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson, 19, will receive this year's Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation's Vanguard Award, making him the youngest recipient of the award in the organization's history.
GLAAD's Vanguard Award is presented to media professionals who, through their work, have increased the visibility and understanding of the LGBT community. Hutcherson, who has also appeared as the son of two lesbian mothers in The Kids Are All Right, is one of the founders of Straight But Not Narrow (SBNN).
Hutcherson says, "I have a lot of gay friends in Los Angeles. My roommate’s gay and I lost two uncles when I was young to AIDS, so it’s an important cause in my family." He appeared in one of the first PSAs for the Straight But Not Narrow campaign. (Watch it below.)
It sure doesn't hurt when our straight friends are gorgeous!
