Although there have always been rumors about Matt Bomer's sexuality, the star of White Collar has never confirmed nor denied the claim. However, that all changed last week when he thanked his partner Simon Hall and his three children while accepting an honor at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards.
“I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry," he said onstage. "Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment."
Hall is a publicist with Slate PR, and he represents Ryan Murphy and Neil Patrick Harris.
In the January 2010 issue, Details magazine brought up the rumors that the actor was gay. Bomer simply stated that he "didn't care about that at all. I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life."
Bomer will appear on Glee in an upcoming episode as Blaine's (Darren Criss) older brother. He will also appear in Murphy's next movie, the big-screen adaptation of the Tony-winning drama The Normal Heart.
