Collin O'Neal: school teacher

According to the Miami New Times, Collin O'Neal (whose real name is Sean Loftis) -- known for his international gay porn series and website World of Men -- had a short but happy career as a subsitute school teacher in south Florida last year. Short because the Miami Dade County Public Schools gave him the boot when his porn career was discovered:

... in spring 2010, Loftis decided to dump porn to pursue his real passion: teaching. That March, he sold World of Men to a Canadian company, he says. And in April, he began substitute teaching in local public schools. He worked at Miami Beach High -- where 'they just loved me to death,' he says -- Nautilus Middle, Edison Middle, and Fienberg-Fisher K-8.

But it wasn't long before Loftis' porn identity was discovered. Like most school boards, Miami Dade has a morals clause in its contract whereby staff must "conduct themselves, both in their employment and in the community, in a manner that will reflect credit upon themselves and the school system."

Seems making and starring in porn doesn't fit that criteria. And while in the article Loftis claims he made a clean break with the adult industry before going into sub teaching, evidence points to the contrary.

Loftis told the paper that he sold World of Men to a Canadian company. While Loftis did partner with Montreal-based My Gay Cash to manage his website affiliate program, there was never any announcement of a sale. Loftis had attempted to sell in 2009, but in November of that year wrote, "I first tried to sell the website, but in this economy the only companies interested were looking for a fire sale and I just couldn't sell my company for pennies on the dollar."

In a press release dated July, 2010 -- three months after getting into teaching -- Loftis / O'Neal, wrote: "I am finally going to see the site I always imagined. I'm so glad I found My Gay Cash that helped so much into putting together a visually amazing and technically fashion forward site for me."

In October of 2010 Loftis attended the HustlaBall Awards in Berlin and claimed Best Director (US) and Best DVD Cover for World of Men: Turkey. He also made regular updates to his World of Men blog during the entire time he was teaching.

And just to make things easier for any suspicious co-worker or parent, Loftis occassionally sent out press releases that contained both his real name and his porn name.

This guy's got moxy -- or something.
