Corbin Fisher wins against torrent user

Liberty Holdings, LLC -- which owns CorbinFisher.com -- has settled out of court with a torrent user four days after it filed suit against him for copyright infringement. Tyler Shwaller has agreed to pay $250,000 in damages.

"This case was airtight," Marc Randazza, general counsel for the company, said. "Some people fight like cats and dogs; he didn't.

According to Randazza, Schwaller has been one of the primary sources of  stolen Corbin Fisher content circulating on the Web, uploading many files to  BitTorrent and other file sharing sites.

Liberty Holdings agreed to half of the dollar amount it originally claimed. Schwaller may even pay out less if he "ceases any further content theft (whether the plaintiff’s content or anyone elses), and if he makes regular payments toward the judgment on a schedule,' as per the settlement.

"I don't know of any settlement of its kind with anything close to that figure," Attorney Evan Stone told XBIZ. "That's wild; very surprised."
